Huka Lodge Appointment
New Zealand’s world-famous Huka Lodge has appointed Louis de Bièvre as General Manager. Mr de Bièvre, having initially studied law at the University of Utrecht, in The Netherlands,
switched to the world of hospitality, graduating from the Centre International de Glion, Switzerland three years later. Graduates from this prestigious hotel management school are actively sought by the world’s finest hotels – which led to Louis spending two years at the Four Seasons in Philadelphia, USA, on completion of his studies.
Waitangi action in Taupo
Voxy reports that next weekend’s Waitangi Day celebrations, will be a rocking and rolling one for Taupo, with its Summer Concert featuring the double international line-up of The Doobie Brothers and Little River Band playing live on Saturday as well as the Kinloch Triathlon on Sunday. More than 10,000 people will pack the Taupo Amphitheatre in Taupo’s Riverside Park on Saturday afternoon, while the Kinloch Triathlon will also experience record attendance this year with over a thousand entries already.

Looking forward to a new Pegasus
Pegasus Rental Cars was established in Christchurch in 1989. The brainchild of Kevin and Sandra Lamb, the idea was to take advantage of the influx of used Japanese cars that were arriving into the country at that time following import de-regulation. For those hirers not requiring a new car and happy with lower prices, suddenly there was a new player in the market able to offer just that.

It was a busy weekend, with our members out there at the Coast to Coast, the Buller half and full marathons and the Aquathlon National Championships. At the risk of missing people out, the best results from club members seemed to be Richard Ussher's stunning fifth victory on the Coast to Coast, Harrison Dean's aquathlon title and Wendy Healey's second place in the half marathon walk.
