Taupo Half

With a 2km swim along the lake front where athletes will be able to swim exactly half of the New Zealand Ironman swim course. Then through a transition in front of the Taupo Yacht Club on to the bike and out on to the local roads to Reporoa and back. After the 90 km bike ride you will then dismount your bike and run along the stunning shores of Lake Taupo out to Rainbow Point on a two lap course .
6th Annual Taupo Motorcycle Road Race Spectacular

Taupo Motorsport Park. Day 1: The afternoon sees the B.A.D.D. (Bikers Against Drunk Drivers) 3 Hour Endurance Race - 30 teams of either single riders, or multi rider teams doing battle for 3 hours! We even have 2 ex World Superbike legends competing in this race - American Fred Merkel and Australian Rob Phillis, along with many top NZ riders. Day 2: This is the final day of the 09 Suzuki International Tri-Series which also incorporates Manfeild racetrack on December 19th, and the infamous Wanganui Street circuit on Boxing day. We will have over 260 competitors entered for this event (including 15 Australians) and several thousand spectators. We have 19 races during the day with classes from F1, F2, F3, Sidecars, Supermotos, Buckets, Classics, Post Classics, Clubmans and BEARS. We also have free bouncy castles, a magician and face painters to keep the children happy - so this really will be a whole family event - no excuses to not come along! Entry is $10 per day per adult, children under 15 are free.
Suzuki Desert Storm

The classic NZ 2 day trail ride on Mount Ruapehu. Featuring 160km of trail, camping, catering and evening entertainment. This is the biggest epic event and attracts around 800 riders per day.
2010 Epic Swim Festival

The Epic Swim will take place for the first time in 2010 in Lake Taupo. This annual event will consist of recreational open water swims of varying distances, the New Zealand 5km and 10km Open Water Championships and also the New Zealand Masters 2.5km Open Water Swimming Championships, to be held in the stunning Lake Taupo, New Zealand.

The 2010 tournament will showcase some of the finest historical recreations in Australasia, culminating in the inaugural Trans-Tasman Jousting Cup. The tournament provides an up close and personal look at history, with a unique appeal for the whole family. Now in its fourth year, the Tournament and its associated festival attracts competitors and spectators from all over the world. Jousting and Foot Combat teams from New Zealand, Australia, France, Belgium, the United Kingdom and Poland have all visited Taupo, helping to create a quality international event, elevating the profile of both Taupo and New Zealand on the world stage
